Hi I'm Jarro. I've always been interested in nature and have spent my life fascinated by the diversity of organisms that can be found. Discovering iNaturalist was amazing for me because it meant I could see and learn about species I'd never have seen in person. I also really enjoy going out and find organisms that are new to me, but also learning to ID new species. It's pretty cool knowing my observations are being recorded and helping contribute to science.
My interest originated with a love for wildflowers and insects especially introduced non-natives. I can ID a few European barklice, but Chilenocaecilius ornatipennis is my favourite and I have a lot of knowledge on that species as I've been observing it for a few years now.
I also like to write blogs from time to time via the journal posts feature. Sometimes I write ID guides, sometimes I write random blogs about whatever nature I'm fascinated by at a given time. I like to write about stuff that I feel is important that maybe most people don't really appreciate yet.
