Acadia National Park is a beautiful, pristine place to visit...
Acadia National Park is a beautiful, pristine place to visit. There are hiking trails for all abilities. Driving to the top if Cadillac Mountain is a must do. In the village at Bar Harbor, there is plenty of shopping, lots of bars, restaurants, lovely parks, and a beautiful shore walk. Many activities are offered, including kayaking, cycling, whale watching, schooner sunset sails, and more.Guest review byAnneUnited States - 8.0
It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful.
It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful. There were many shops and a few restaurants. The marina was lovely. Bar Harbor and Acadia were just minutes away. I would stay in Northeast Harbor again.Guest review byMichelleUnited States - 10.0

This is a wonderful launching pad for beautiful nearby towns such as Blue Hill, Deer Island, Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Seal Harbor, and, of course, Acadia National Park where one can view the entire seacoast from beautiful Cadillac Mountain.Guest review byKristinUnited States - 10.0

Bass Harbor is a wonderful place to stay and experience all the surrounding area has to offer. We biked, kayaked, and hiked during the week. Bar Harbor is an easy drive and a great place to get a book, eat out, and shop.Guest review byDebUnited States - 10.0
Exceptional does not begin to describe this property.
Exceptional does not begin to describe this property. Is it a beautifully constructed and secluded cabin mirroring the owner’s memory of her childhood home on the West Coast of Ireland. Imaginatively furnished, it is the best equipped rental in which I have ever stayed. Far from the hustle and bustle but close to all of the major attractions: Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, the Schoodic National Scenic Byway, Frenchman’s Bay and so much more.Guest review byDonaldUnited States - 10.0

We traveled on a motorcycle and enjoyed exploring Acadia Park. We loved the restaurants and many choices of the fish menu. I think there should have been more music events around town. Maybe some of the bars could have live music playing while walking aroundGuest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Food prices were reasonable and the food is astounding! Tony, the guy in front. Was very friendly and remembered my name when we left.Guest review bySchade - 10.0
Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor.
Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor. It is very walkable, with several restaurants and shops. It is a short drive to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and Acadia National Park. The city dock is open to the public, and you can get some good pictures of the harbor from the dock. I took my wife to the Red Sky restaurant for her birthday. It was very good.Guest review byRandalUnited States - 10.0
Bar Harbor was a great vacation- definitely recommend.
Bar Harbor was a great vacation- definitely recommend. We spent three full days in town and did lots of excursions. We did the Puffin & Lighthouse tour and the Whale Watching tour. Both of those were amazing experiences, and the company even provided discounts in town for meals afterwards. You should know it costs money to park anywhere downtown in Bar Harbor! They use a meter/app to run this cost. We found it was worth it to lodge near town and just walk in. Bar Harbor was a cute tourist spot, but there was a focus on nature and conservation, which was appreciated. Grabbing food or ice cream in town and enjoying the view of the harbor was breathtaking, especially at sunset. The proximity to Acadia National Park was the big reason we stayed, but we fell in love with Bar Harbor! Definitely recommend!Guest review byRachelUnited States - 8.0

Beautiful area with easy access to the park, carriage roads and hiking trails. 20 mins to Bar Harbor, 20 mins to SW Harbor and Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Sweet little village, walking distance from hotel, with groceries, eateries and shops.Guest review byLindaUnited States
