Abstract

A technology which is capable of adjusting imbalanced color caused by aged deterioration of a luminescent material for each color (keeping a color balance as uniform as possible) on a PDP. The PDP has a cell structure for each of R, G, B colors in the pixel, wherein an area of a discharge electrode in a cell region is formed to be smaller in a B-color cell, for example, than in the other color cells according to deterioration characteristics of luminescent materials (9R, 9G, 9B) for each color, and an area for forming the luminescent materials on the cell unit is formed to be larger in the B-color cell than in other color cells according tothe area of the discharge electrode. Such an allocation adjusts to keep the characteristics of each color cell to be kept uniform.
