    General Manager for Microsoft Sweden

It is with a great sense of pride and hope for the future and what we can accomplish together that I share how The Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund, in collaboration with Microsoft, has embarked on the BrainChild project to address the critical issue of childhood cancer. Today, despite significant advancements, many children still face the risk of relapse and severe long-term side effects from cancer treatments. The Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund aims to leverage cutting-edge technology to improve outcomes for these young patients. Through the BrainChild project, researchers and Microsoft are utilizing AI and machine learning to predict relapses, individualize treatments, and reduce lifelong side effects. By analyzing health data from over 500 children treated between 2021 and 2024, the project has made significant strides in enhancing diagnostics and treatment precision. This innovative approach not only improves survival rates but also aims to replace heavy chemotherapy with more targeted therapies, significantly benefiting the quality of life for survivors. Looking ahead, the BrainChild project plans to expand its reach by incorporating more data sources and diagnostic groups. This expansion aims to democratize and revolutionize childhood cancer care globally. Thank you to everyone that has been involved in this amazing initiative for a better future.
