Bengaluru, Nov 20, 2023– In a strategic move to bolster tax revenue and enhance transparency, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched an ambitious mission to digitize property documents across the city.
BBMP staff is set to conduct on-site visits, creating a seamless digital property record. Residents are urged to collaborate by providing copies of their property tax receipts and BESCOM bills, essential for ensuring accurate and efficient digitization.
Several residents have received proactive notifications, signalling the commencement of a door-to-door survey. The message advises residents to prepare for the visit by organizing essential documents, including property tax receipts and BESCOM bills.

Strategic Goals of Digitization
Aligned with BBMP's broader objectives, the initiative aims to identify properties outside the tax net, regularize building violations, and fortify defences against the forgery of property documents.
This digitalization program is a pivotal aspect of the Nanna Swatthu initiative, a modified version of BBMP's 'e-Aasthi' platform, introduced a month ago by Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D K Shivakumar during the 'Brand Bengaluru' conclave.
Over the next few weeks, revenue and tax inspectors from BBMP will target specific areas, including C V Raman Nagar, Horamavu, Arakere, and Kodigenahalli, to compile comprehensive information about properties.
The ultimate goal is to identify all properties within the city limits, potentially boosting property tax revenue by addressing the 25-30% of properties currently outside the tax net.
