I planned to visit the city, but after reading up and hearing from some people that lived there i changed my plans. I decided to just visit for the day. The city is suffering from drug and homeless problems, I was told they are trying to reverse a policy of all drug legalisation, which hadn't gone well. I have travelled globally and to some poor countries and bad cities in the past, this had a bad vibe about the place. The "famous" bookstore is just like any other and nodiscript. Voodoo doughnuts which are on the must do list, are again completely overrrated. My advice, skip Portland and do Seattle instead.Guest review byDAvidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Bend has a lot to offer for many interests.
Bend has a lot to offer for many interests. It’s a great place for concerts, shopping, wine tasting, restaurants and breweries. Also it offers fun on the river, hiking trails, biking, parks and more. In my experience, the scenery is beautiful, the town is clean and the people are friendly.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
We ate at Kyllo's and Taste of India, both were excellent.
We ate at Kyllo's and Taste of India, both were excellent. We also ate at Misty's and it was good and view was lovely. We also stopped at Barnicale Bills for seafood, over 50 years old, also the Candy Store that was 50 year business very nice people at both stores and good foods. The best thing we did was go to the Lincoln City Glass and did blown glass. Donald was a very good teacher and did a great job explaining what we were doing. I was impressed with having kids that were 48inches tall being able to do the activity. You have to pre-schedule to do it. We were there during the week so were able to get a spot the next day. The beaches in area are nice and flat so easy walking, found sea glass and some agates too. Very nice place to visit.Guest review byTeresaUnited States - 10.0

Seaside is compact and most attractions within a few blocks of each other. The free public parking with restrooms is very convenient. A lot of hotels are on the beach or very close to it. Established residential areas downtown are well kept. The town is friendly and clean. The beach is beautiful. The restaurants are very good.Guest review byMichaelUnited States - 10.0

We drove from Los Angeles to Vancouver and the route that we took we had to drive through Eugene. It was absolutely beautiful. It's surrounded by lakes, streams and beautiful tall trees that just takes your breath away. It's peaceful with not a lot of traffic with eateries along the way. We only drove through but that drive make us want to come back and visit. We loved itGuest review byAndreUnited States - 10.0
Newport is in the middle of a series of beach communities...
Newport is in the middle of a series of beach communities with each having a special character and usually a harbor. The various harbors seem to have the the best culinary experience. Willamette Valley connections define the access - Portland to Seaside, Tillamook, Cannon Beach, Salem to Lincoln City, Corvallis to Newport, Eugene to Florence. With smaller communities in between. The State and Federal Forest Service Parks and viewing sites including light houses, aquariums and Marine Science center are great. Rambling up the small coastal roads into the coastal mountains provide an insight into the logging history and First Nation culture..... And don't forget the tides, high and low with the latter exposing fantastic marine life tide pools.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

I truly enjoyed Watching the tweakers in their natural habitat for there are simply like mere cats running from bridge to bridge popping up every so often to see if the mighty owl aka metro police is coming for they know the Xbox then game up not not to mention all the people in white painter shoots whistling tunes all the same tune for this is a very strange place much like Alice-in-Wonderland I wonder if we eat the mushrooms here if I were a taller not to mention the LSD that was quite amazing there's a place called Ashlyn bunch of naked people running around it was cool my next trip to Eugene hurts me better till we meet againGuest review byCarroll - 2.0

Nothing I did not have what I needed at hotel 6. No fridge, microwave, or coffee pot. Bad lobby coffee. I was on 2nd floor coffee was downstairs. No elevator. I have MS hard to walk. Other guests were complaining for the same reason. Thin awful blanket on bed hardly any linens. One bar of soap only.Guest review bySalinas - 6.0

Salem is quite small and unfortunately the state capitol was undergoing building work (it's one of the main sights). Not too many shops and restaurants downtown but the ones I went too were very good. Good place for a couple of days visit.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Ashland is such a walkable town and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The theater is centrally located and an easy walking distance from where we stayed at the Peerless Hotel. Lots of fun, cozy dining options and the local shops are varied and a cut above the touristy shops you often see.Guest review byMargaretUnited States
