The city seems to have suffered a lot from recession/covid, a surprisingly high number of empty retail units. It felt a bit as if a spring had given and the city was trying to survive. It is however really lovely but badly hurt.Guest review byAnne-laureUnited Kingdom - 10.0
San Diego is amazing!
San Diego is amazing! We stayed in Gaslamp at the Omni and had such a nice time. Highly recommend the zoo, catching a game at Padres stadium, walking around Gaslamp and going to the many delicious restaurants, Stone Brewing, and Little Italy. So much good food everywhere! And very walkable. Balboa park is incredible! So much to experience in one place. Also make the trip to La Jolla if you haven't been - its beautiful and the wildlife is amazing. Can't wait to return to San Diego and see and do more!Guest review byEmmaUnited States - 4.0

If you are going for Disney Land, then it will be fun, but there is not much else to do here, there are some outlets but with traffic it took us almost 2 hours to make it back to the hotel. We mainly ate at Disney, and we did grub hub food 2 nights. If you are going to Disney and not staying within walking distance to the parks, there is a city shuttle that you can take but be warned, IT TAKES FOREVER to drive by some of the hotels, the drivers are very nice and helpful but we spent alot of time waiting for the shuttle to come by and pick us up, so just be prepared.Guest review byLauraUnited States - 2.0
My family and I, including my wife and young daughter, had a...
My family and I, including my wife and young daughter, had a truly appalling experience at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa on July 11, 2025, around 6 PM. What was supposed to be a relaxing stay quickly devolved into a shocking display of unprofessionalism and a complete lack of human decency from the front office staff. Upon our arrival with a confirmed reservation, we simply requested a specific room. However, Kenao and his female colleague (whose name I didn't catch) were immediately uncooperative and dismissive. The female employee seemed more interested in "kissing up" to Kenao, actively escalating the already hostile situation. When I asked to speak with a manager to address their unhelpful attitude, Kenao audaciously claimed to be the manager himself. Their behavior was beyond rude; it was devoid of any compassion or understanding for a family arriving late in the evening with a child. Instead of assisting us, they abruptly called security and ordered us to leave the premises. This act was not only incredibly humiliating but also deeply upsetting, especially for my daughter. For a hotel that prides itself on being a five-star establishment, the conduct of these employees was utterly unacceptable and a disgrace to the hospitality industry. Their actions were unprofessional, uncaring, and frankly, disqualifying for anyone working in a customer-facing role. I urge anyone considering staying at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa to be aware of the potential for such a disheartening and disrespectful experience. This was a profoundly disappointing encounter that no guest should ever have to endure.Guest review byKhalidUnited States - 10.0
So much to do!
So much to do! We went for a Jon Pardi concert but could have stayed a few more days to explore and take in more of Tahoe. Beautiful weather in July at a a comfortable 79-80. Gorgeous lake with nice views and beach access. Shop your heart away and exciting nightlife. Everything within walking distance or a short drive. Hells kitchen was yummy and highly recommend the lobster risotto. Can't wait to go back to Tahoe as it has become a top favorite destination.Guest review byMadonaUnited States - 10.0
Santa Barbara has a casual relaxed feeling to it.
Santa Barbara has a casual relaxed feeling to it. A walk on the pier is a must. Free 90minute parking but walk instead. The Spanish-style architecture gives the city a unique charm. With the mountains as a background, the ocean spreads out to the west. This is a city to chill and stroll in. Most of restaurants are located on State Street, which was closed off to vehicles and was more like a pedestrian Mall on Sunday night. Not sure if it's closed for foot traffic every night. Do be aware of bikes-etc. on State Street though.Guest review byDennisUnited States - 8.0

I really didn’t get out much in the city as I was there limited amount of time for a concert and left early in the morning. I was briefly in the area of the gold one center and there appeared to be several things around the venue. I also was in old Sacramento very briefly to eat a late night dinner And that was great to have at least one restaurant open until 2 AM.Guest review byQueenBeeUnited States - 10.0

We enjoy going to the beaches, the Boardwalk and the local restaurants. We found that breakfast at Zachary's was excellent. Their potatoes are really tasty and the have homemade bread. We had dinner at Bedda Mia. Their Spaghetti alle vongole and Carbonara is good. We would go back to both of those places.Guest review byAnn - 6.0

I liked the area of the property as its right next to the on and off ramp for the Hwy. Its right next to the Denny's, well as a Walmart super center! Theres also Wendys, and Starbucks across the street! Its far enough from the inner city were there tends to be a lot of riff raff as well low scale crime, as well as drugs. I felt at peace, and you can tell that the management puts a lot towards 2training her staff! Real good hard-working staff as well as very courteous and attentive to the guests needs! I figured that there would be a lot of noise and everything else that's associated with hotels that are more cost effective.Guest review byRufusUnited States
