The staff were great, especially the restaurant manager Sarah, I hav”d a problem at Red Marlin and when I we spoke she was incredibly kind and compassionate, made me feel valued and heard. I travel frequently with work and every hotel has its issues, but tend to not handle service recovery very well. the way she handled it was great, working in hospitality myself, I see and recognize her talent, Hyatt really has a superstar with her and I hope they recognize that.

FAQs about hotels in San Diego

The Art of Easy Living

Sweeping along the coast against a mountain backdrop, San Diego has easy living down to a fine art. Its wonderful beaches and mild climate make it a favorite spring break destination, and with over 40 city breweries, there are plenty of ice cold beers to set the mood.

The city’s most recognizable landmark is the Hotel del Coronado, a wooden Victorian beach resort, now a National Historic Landmark. As original Spanish mission and first in California, it's has been relocated to the Mission Valley area, and Old Town San Diego still has many Colonial buildings and quirky shops. Also great for shopping are Horton Plaza and the boutiques in the beachfront neighborhoods.

The city’s most famous attraction is its zoo in Balboa Park, a few blocks from San Diego International Airport. One of the world’s largest zoos, it is well worth a visit, as is the fantastic SeaWorld, home to several killer whales. To see wildlife in its natural habitat head to La Jolla beach where harbor seals rest, or watch whales in season from Point Loma Lighthouse.

Just over the border from Mexico’s Tijuana, San Diego has a distinctly Latin American vibe and a variety of accommodations encompassing apartments, motels, B&Bs and hotels. See Booking.com for the best deals.

    San Diego is amazing!

San Diego is amazing! We stayed in Gaslamp at the Omni and had such a nice time. Highly recommend the zoo, catching a game at Padres stadium, walking around Gaslamp and going to the many delicious restaurants, Stone Brewing, and Little Italy. So much good food everywhere! And very walkable. Balboa park is incredible! So much to experience in one place. Also make the trip to La Jolla if you haven't been - its beautiful and the wildlife is amazing. Can't wait to return to San Diego and see and do more!

We love all of the things we did in San Diego.

We love all of the things we did in San Diego. A concert at The Humphrey by the Bay, sailing, kayaking, biking, Coronado, Navy Pier, Mission Beach and other exploring. We found all of the people we encountered to be very kind and friendly. The only complaint about our visit was that driving was stressful due to very aggressive, fast drivers, not allowing merges, crowding you out on a one lane exit, and motorcycles going through traffic at 100 miles per hour. We had great navigation and were very conscientious about being in the correct lanes. We feel fortunate not to have been hit.

San Diego has an issue with homeless. Some areas like the Gaslight District are pretty much kept clean however, areas surrounding that are not. We stayed at 15th and G and would not stay in that area again. Down by the water front is very nice The San Diego Zoo was wonderful!!

The location was great. It was right by the dog beach and although we didn't have a dog, we enjoyed walking to the beach and watching all the activity on the beach. The location to other things like stores to get groceries was also good and the room was spacious and comfortable. Parking was a plus. Also the hotel has taken the time to plant beautiful aloes and other succulents. You can tell they really pay attention to the garden. It was a delight to see.
