FAQs about hotels in England
The Small Country with Big Appeal
For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.
Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.
Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.
With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

We were mainly in London for the FOREVER NOW music festival.
We were mainly in London for the FOREVER NOW music festival. However, it being my first time there, I really enjoyed seeing the tourist sites like Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Eye, and Buckingham Palace. My favorite part of the trip was going to Borough Market. It was foodie heaven! Also, getting around London was relatively simple either by cab or the Underground, which was definitely the cheapest way to go. We stayed in three different hotels, and each one was very comfortable and clean. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of them again. Looking forward to coming back to London!Guest review byStephanie - 8.0
A lively city with great modern and historical architecture.
A lively city with great modern and historical architecture. It has a very good public transport system with frequent buses and trams. We visited Coop Live for a gig, The science and Industry museum and the Arndale Centre for shopping. We ate at Rudy's Pizza and had fantastic freshly made pizzas. and the next day at The Hard Rock Cafe at the Printworks in Central Manchester.Guest review byWright - 8.0

Broad street by the canal area & Mailbox is very good! Many restaurants & bars to choose from. Very high Police presence & this makes you feel very safe. Arcadian/China town is clean and has some lovely bars & restaurants. Has the feel of being on holiday abroad. Hippodrome theatre at top of Hurst Street is excellent. Loved the Tram from North Station. Great idea.
Loved the Tram from North Station. Great idea. Lot Cleaner than it used to be. Didn't see any Drunks or Druggies about! Trams are pretty frequent. Had a laugh with some people. Quite Nice. Love Fleetwood as well. I Go to the Folk Club when i'm there. Strawberry Gardens Folk Club. Thursdays. Half 8 untill 11. Great fun. I even sing a few songs. XXX I came down for a Funeral. So didn't go up the Tower. Or go to the Zoo. I'm 71. Hahahaha.. The Photos are of Fleetwood Tram Sunday. Along with a Comicon Convention. That was Great! Bristol is a lovely city to visit, lots of culture, architectural buildings, lovely old parts of the city and very compact. Public transport is excellent and the location I stayed was ideal for the coach station for my return to the airport and costs only 9 pounds single. Great places to eat, just seek out the small restaurants and the people are friendly, lots of activities, I done Stonehenge, abit expensive perhaps for students but great value overall. I will be returning as I enjoyed my trip so much and did not get to do everything on my list.Guest review byDoran - 10.0

The city centre's compact and fairly easy to navigate so it's possible to do a lot on foot. There's a great variety of free museums and galleries, In a weekend, we visited the Laing and Baltic galleries, Great North museum (good for children and the young-at heart) and the quirky Lit & Phil library. Grainger Market's good for a coffee and provisions for a packed lunch. (There's a deli there that sells little tubs of pease pudding - an essential accompaniment to a stottie roll.) A Metro day pass will take you to the seaside and includes the short ferry ride between North and South Shields. Top recommendation for a eating out would be brunch at The Biscuit Factory arts and craft centre (book in advance to be sure of a table).Guest review byMarieUnited Kingdom - 8.0

York is a truly magical city that beautifully blends rich history with modern charm. Walking through its cobbled streets, ancient city walls, and quaint alleyways feels like stepping back in time. Highlights like the York Minster, Clifford’s Tower, and The Shambles offer endless photo opportunities and fascinating stories. The city is also very walkable, with cozy cafés, local shops, and riverside walks around every corner. We especially loved the vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere — perfect for families and couples alike. Whether you're into history, culture, or simply enjoying a good afternoon tea, York is a delightful destination that leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended!Guest review byAbdul RahimSingapore - 6.0
Disabled.
Disabled. Heading CC despite frequent reassurances of help from Yorkshire cc office failed totally. The entire ground does not possess a wheelchair. Even for a Test match. Ground staff were fantastic & made up for office incompetance. Should have saved £500.00+ quid & watched it on Sky! Top tip if visiting Yorkhire CC & disabled, Don't or practice getting around on all fours Yorkshire at it's bestGuest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great location and hotel facilities.
Great location and hotel facilities. Very convenient for staying before travelling. Short walk to T4 Heathrow all under cover with lifts and escalators for your convenience. Also convenient for parking and spending some time in London via train links from T4. All staff friendly and helpful. Great bar and restaurant as well as breakfast.Guest review byThelmaUnited Kingdom
