I liked everything about this place, it was very centrally located in this busy town and yet quiet. Our room was lovely, decorated very nicely and spacious, the bed was large and very comfortable, we were lucky enough to have both a bath and a separate shower in the bathroom which is always a bonus. Bottles of water were provided, along with the usual coffee/tea etc. Breakfast was delicious and served by extremely efficient and pleasant staff, and both receptionists were delightful, welcoming and extremely helpful. Parking was easy, although I understand at times it can get crowded. We liked it so much we will definitely be going back.

FAQs about hotels in Cotswolds

The Quaint Heart of England

One of England’s most quaint areas, the Cotswolds are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with rolling hills interspersed by picturesque villages with limestone buildings.

From Cirencester to Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold to Stroud, the laidback lifestyle makes this area a great choice for an escape to the country. Booking.com has some fabulous accommodation and, of our range of Cotswolds hotels, luxury and budget alternatives are covered in equal measure.

The largest place is Cheltenham, a wonderful Regency spa town. Neighbouring Gloucester has some well-preserved medieval buildings and an impressive cathedral. Some of the most photographed medieval Cotswolds sights are the Arlington Row almshouses in Bibury. To the east beautiful Burford has a high street going up a hill, Burford Priory country house and the large Cotswolds Wildlife Park just south.

More feathered friends are found in Birdland Park at Bourton-on-the-Water, a lovely village with low bridges spanning its river. Forming a triangle with it are Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Norton, whose former mill and almshouses are worth a look. Broadway to the north-west has a main street in the shade of hills, one of which has a tower from where it’s said you can see 13 English counties!

Wherever you decide to stay, check Booking.com for great Cotswold hotel deals.

it is a delightful town with good shopping and the Corinium Museum is a model of how a local museum should be. Thousands of items showing the history of the town from prehistoric times, through its peak of importance during the Roman occupation, to present day, all beautifully displayed and clearly explained. Definitely worth a detour!

As a village Bourton on the Water, was the most busy. We did not spend a lot of time in the village, only did half a day there, and went twice for dinner. However, the restaurants were full and it is highly recommended to book beforehand. The other villages were more quiet and we enjoyed longer strolling there and having lunch and coffees.

Chipping Norton is a lovely place with a number of pubs & takeaways. It’s very close to the Diddly Squat farm shop and also able to drive to other places easily from here. It had free public car parks. A lovely ‘Living Room Cinema’, which we visited to watch a film.

    The accommodation was excellent.

The accommodation was excellent. The apartment was very well located right near the main square & in the main shopping area. The apartment was furnished superbly and included seperate kitchen/dining area and well appointed small lounge sitting area in addition to the main bedroom and bathroom. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone I knew who was visiting the Cotswolds in England.

Lovely town with some great shops.

Lovely town with some great shops. On street parking available free for 2 hrs. A lot of traffic in the main street. Being in the main built of Cotswold stone the town looks beautiful with many old buildings. It is built on a hill down to the Windrush so some level of fitness is required. The town is well worth exploring.

Chipping Campden is a picture-perfect Cotswold town, rich in history, charm, and natural beauty. Its iconic High Street, lined with honey-coloured stone buildings, is one of the most beautiful in England. With welcoming pubs, artisan shops, and links to the Arts and Crafts Movement, it’s full of character and creativity. Surrounded by stunning countryside and close to gardens like Hidcote and Kiftsgate, it's a haven for walkers and nature lovers. Peaceful, picturesque, and timeless — Chipping Campden is the perfect escape to the English countryside.

Moreton on marsh is a beautiful town.

Moreton on marsh is a beautiful town. There’s a market there on Tuesdays. Great places to eat gorgeous fish and chip bar. The black bear Inn fantastic food. Bellini Italian restaurant fantastic. Stay away from the Thai restaurant (SIAM COTTAGE THAI) cold food which we waited 1 hr and 15 minutes for. Service below poor. Plus if you order soft drinks (J2O) they share the bottle between 2 glasses and charge for 2. We used go guide to see around the Cotswolds Elaine the guide was fabulous we visited many places Bourton on the water, Snowshill where Bridget Jones (first one) was filmed, chipping Campden, Cirencester - Bibury etc

We enjoyed the gardens at Coggs.

We enjoyed the gardens at Coggs. We ate outside at the Rowing Machine pub which was in the shade, very comfortable and our grandchildren played very happily in the playground and grounds. We tried to charge our Electric mobile home on a Sunday evening which was in the Lidl car park but there was nowhere nearby to sit whilst it was charging and nowhere to have a coffee and wait. Costa coffee in the Travel Lodge across the roundabout was closed and we tried to get a coffee and use the toilet at The Oxford Whitney Hotel the other side of the roundabout but were ordered off the premises by the security guard. I eventually used the toilet in the mini Waitrose supermarket and petrol station opposite Lidl.

Lovely places to eat - lovely country views - travelled by bicycle. Lots of hills so at times you have to walk it but we enjoyed ourselves. Travelled by train would recommend making reservations for your bicycles. Ate at Egypt Mill, Casa Sabor and The Bear at Rodborough and loved the food at the Five Valleys. Recommend the Ice Cream shop called Whinstones which has been there for 100 years.
