Clean room with the necessary stuff. Not noisy even though next to a busy road. Walking distance to SC centre. The staff was very friendly and gave us a very good taco truck recommendation (just 10min walk from the inn). Loads of parking spots.

FAQs about hotels in Santa Cruz

Surfin’ USA in Bohemian CA

Santa Cruz was surf central California long before the Beach Boys sang about it. The Surfing Museum in the Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse tells stories of those who have braved some of the world’s best waves.

Overlooking the ocean rollers are the Coconut Grove Ballroom and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk - the oldest amusement park in the state of CA, and the last original one on the West Coast. Its historic carousel, rollercoasters and rides are a colourful backdrop to Cowell’s Beach, best viewed from the Sky Glider cable cars.

Jutting into Monterey Bay is the wharf where sea lions bask and pelicans decide on their next meal. Seafood restaurants are abundant here and the bars provide lively nightlife. Pacific Avenue is the main shopping area and one street away is the Museum of Art & History.

Unsurprisingly for a surfer hotspot, the city has a liberal outlook and is known for political activism - a far cry from the era when the Santa Cruz Mission was established. The mission is now a state park alongside Natural Bridges Beach and the Big Basin Redwoods in forested hills behind the city, home to the gravity-defying Mystery Spot.

Booking.com’s Santa Cruz accommodation includes pet-friendly motels, hotels with hot tubs and cheap inns near UCSC.

We enjoy going to the beaches, the Boardwalk and the local restaurants. We found that breakfast at Zachary's was excellent. Their potatoes are really tasty and the have homemade bread. We had dinner at Bedda Mia. Their Spaghetti alle vongole and Carbonara is good. We would go back to both of those places.

But I most like the beaches I would like to just sit out there for half a day towards the evening a watch the sunset. It’s just beautiful and everything else is fine. I like the food places. I recommend them to check out some of the food places just wanted a little more time at this wonderful little place to stay or live.

Santa Cruz is a big part of my family's history.

Santa Cruz is a big part of my family's history. It's my happy place and is now my kids', too. We love the ocean & beaches anywhere, but it's special here. We love the town, it's age, architecture and setting. Weather is unbeatable. The Boardwalk is famous for a reason. It's big, but not too big. Rides are a perfect balance of terrifying to just fun so there's something for everyone. Some of us don't do rides at all and are perfectly happy with the beach, arcades, games and shops instead. I do have to warn that prices have gone up noticeably this year and they weren't bargains to begin with. All day parking across from the Boardwalk is now $35, large corn dogs are almost $10. There aren't as many beach showers available anymore and the whole Boardwalk has gone cashless, card only. You can buy one from a vending machine or kiosk good anywhere on the Walk if you don't have a credit card. They removed most of the classic arcade games from the main arcade, which is a loss to my husband, my sister and me. Ticket values from games in the redemption center have gone way down, too, in this new economy. But the mini golf is still there and fun as always 😉 Prices are up all over town, not just the Boardwalk. Our family's must-visit is Santa Cruz Diner & almost every breakfast item now starts at $19+. You can keep costs down a bit by going on off peak days or even season & using the fridge in ur room for meals and snacks. Enjoy it all, but be prepared to pay!

Location was very central to all the places we went.

Location was very central to all the places we went. The hotel and room was decorated very nicely and it was very clean. The breakfast had many options but I would have appreciated availabllity of non dairy milk. Staff was not welcoming and nor did they talk to us unless spoken to. The mirror in the bathroom stated the room would be cleaned every other day. ON the third day, I asked when our room would be cleaned, the desk person thought it might be cleaned the next day. On the fifth day of our stay, I had to request that the sheets be changed and the wastebaskets emptied.

I had amazing time at the city, so beautiful and chill. It feels like u enter anothe space in the world. The community so easy phase and welcoming. This is a must city to visit. My spot was the beach as i love to run and meditate over there, i also visit downtown and few places. Great experience with a kava bar which was my first time so if u dont want to consume alcohol this place is for you , get a natural buzz from the kava roots.

This was a clean property and a reasonable price as it was a big weekend in Santa Cruz seeing as it was the weekend of the 100th Anniversary for the rollercoaster. This was a reasonable price. Basic, but all you need for a one night stay
