Don't do time square.
Don't do time square. All they do there is walk around and look at the lights, that is all they had for me. Instead do tours, shows, visit Rockefeller Center on a Saturday. A dazzling city.
A dazzling city. So vibrant, so many people out, remarkable place. Walk or use mass transit. Driving and parking in Manhattan is difficult and can be expensive. Our hotel was in Soho. Manhattan is expensive, not clean, smelly, usually unkind and lazy people who are rude a bit to tourist. We planned 3 days there because of my teenaged son. But after one day we would left if we are not from Europe and this was the last station of our roundtrip. If you go there I think just plan a very basic things to see first, with basic tickets. About other tourism things it is hard to explain... .That little crowded garden - they call Central Park - and everything was NOT our loveliest experience. No history/short history: here was the twin building, here was shot XY, here you can buy so expensive flat etc... This is the town which I will not go again. Like most places, it's not the same as it used to be, this is my 4th trip over the last 30 years. My daughter is working near New York, so I went to see her. She loves it. I'm probably happy and ready to explore other parts of the world now. I hate the expectations for tips.
