Abstract
The invention relates to an electric motor, in particular an electronically commutated electric motor. The electric motor has a rotor which is formed, in particular, with permanent magnets. The electric motor also has a rotor position sensor which is designed to detect a rotor position of the rotor as a function of a permanent magnet which is connected to the rotor in a rotationally fixed manner and to generate a rotor position signal which represents said rotor position. A motor shaft of the electric motor of the kind cited in the introductory part has a cutout. The permanent magnet is at least partially arranged in the cutout.
