Abstract

　被覆付きファイバを、簡易な接続作業で高精度に位置決めして接続することができる光接続部材およびその装着方法を提供する。 　ガラスファイバ２１の外周に被覆２４を備えた光ファイバ２０に装着される光コネクタ１は、ガラスファイバ挿入穴４２を有するフェルール４０と、ガラスファイバ挿入穴４２に挿入され短尺光ファイバ４１に突き合わされた光ファイバ２０を固定する固定部３０と、当該光コネクタ１内への光ファイバ２０の挿入力により光ファイバ２０の端部から被覆２４を除去する被覆除去部１０である挿入口４２ａと、固定部３０と被覆除去部１０との間に設けられ、光ファイバ２０を撓ませた状態で収容可能な撓み空間１６と、を備え、撓み空間１６における光ファイバ２０の挿入方向の一部を遮断して光ファイバ２０の撓みを部分的に防止する撓み防止部材７０が着脱可能である。
