Abstract

L'invention porte sur un dispositif électroluminescent organique émettant de la lumière ayant une longueur d'onde particulièrement courte, qui a un rendement lumineux élevé, une faible tension d'excitation et une longue vie d'émission. L'invention décrit également un dispositif d'éclairage et un dispositif d'affichage, chacun utilisant un tel dispositif électroluminescent organique. Le dispositif électroluminescent organique est caractérisé par le fait qu'il contient une structure partielle d'un complexe métallique représentée par la formule générale suivante (1). [formule chimique 1] (1) (Dans la formule, E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, E8, E9, E10 et E11 représentent chacun un atome de carbone, -CRa, un atome d'azote ou -NRb, et Ra et Rb peuvent être les mêmes ou différents et représentent chacun un atome d'hydrogène ou un substituant, à condition qu'au moins un de Ra et Rb soit un substituant ; X1, X2 et X3 représentent chacun un atome de carbone, un atome d'azote, un atome d'oxygène ou un atome de soufre, à condition qu'au moins un de X1, X2 et X3 soit un atome d'oxygène ou un atome de soufre ; et M représente un élément métallique de transition du groupe 8-10 de la table périodique).
