Abstract
In the process for manufacturing a plasma display panel, a sealing medium for airtight bonding of an exhaust pipe to a backside substrate is heated and melted in vacuum in advance after firing but before airtight bonding of an exhaust pipe. Consequently, even when, for shortening of the exhausting operation for bonded panels, the sealing medium is heated and melted in vacuum once more, no bubbling would occur in the sealing medium. Accordingly, even when the sealing medium is heated and melted in vacuum for a prolonged period of time, bubble removal is not needed. As a result, the airtight bonding operation for exhaust pipe in vacuum can be performed within a short period of time.
