Abstract

 プラズマディスプレイパネルと、初期化期間において緩やかに下降する下り傾斜波形電圧を発生させるとともに1フィールド期間の少なくとも1つのサブフィールド(第1SF)の初期化期間においては緩やかに上昇する第1の傾斜波形電圧を発生させる走査電極駆動回路と、パネル温度検出回路とを備えたプラズマディスプレイ装置において、前記パネル温度検出回路において検出した温度に応じて、前記下り傾斜波形電圧における最低電圧を、第1の電圧(Vi4L)、前記第1の電圧(Vi4L)よりも電圧値の高い第2の電圧(Vi4M)、又は前記第2の電圧(Vi4M)よりも電圧値の高い第3の電圧(Vi4H)に切換える。
