Abstract

It is intended to provide a hepatocyte culture container and a hepatocyte culture method capable of reproducing liver function in the living body. A hepatocyte culture container 10 according to the invention is a hepatocyte culture container 10 having a plurality of microcontainers 11 on the surface, and the bottom area of each of the microcontainers 11 is from 0.01 to 0.1 mm2, and the height of a side wall 13 constituting each of the microcontainers 11 is from 25 to 150 μm. Further, the shape of the bottom of each of the microcontainers 11 is isotropic and the major axis thereof is preferably in the range of 1 to 1.5 times ofthe minor axis thereof.
