Abstract
高転化率、且つ高選択率でビスフェノール化合物を製造することができるビスフェノール化合物の製造方法、及び、高活性を有する陽イオン交換樹脂触媒を提供する。 下記一般式(1)で表される構成単位を有する陽イオン交換樹脂触媒及びメルカプト基或いは保護されたメルカプト基を含有する化合物、又は、下記一般式(1)で表される構成単位がメルカプト基或いは保護されたメルカプト基を含有する化合物で変性された構成単位を有する陽イオン交換樹脂触媒、の存在下、フェノール化合物とカルボニル化合物とを反応させる。 〔式(1)中、R1、R2、及びR3は、各々独立に、水素原子、置換基を有していてもよいアルキル基、置換基を有していてもよいアリール基、又はハロゲン原子を表し、Xは陽イオン交換樹脂の主鎖に結合している一つの芳香環のみに置換している電子求引性基を表し、nは1乃至4の整数である。〕
