Abstract

For the purpose of increasing the accuracy of the measurement of the asbestos fiber concentration, a specific fibrous particle other than asbestos is removed before the measurement of the asbestos fiber concentration is conducted. In a fibrous particle removal apparatus (1), a particle floating in the air taken through an air inlet (10) is heated under given conditions in a heating unit (11) to remove the specific fibrous particle other than a mineral-based fibrous particle of interest (e.g., asbestos). The heated air is cooled in a cooling unit (13) before the air is removed through an air outlet (15).
