Abstract

La présente invention concerne un transmetteur HF multi-standard comprenant un amplificateur de puissance (6) pour amplifier un signal HF avant de générer un signal HF de sortie (7). Un mode de fonctionnement de l'amplificateur de puissance peut être commandé, par exemple entre un fonctionnement de classe AB et de classe D, par un circuit de commande (4) raccordé de manière opérationnelle (5) à l'amplificateur de puissance (6). De préférence, le circuit de commande (4) fonctionne à la manière d'une commande en mode commun. Le mode de fonctionnement de l'amplificateur de puissance (6) est commandé en réponse à un paramètre de commande, par ex. un niveau du signal d'entrée (1), une énergie requise, une efficacité requise, un type de modulation souhaité ou un degré souhaité de linéarité. Ainsi, grâce à cette capacité d'ajustement d'un mode de fonctionnement de l'amplificateur de puissance, le transmetteur HF peut se conformer à de nombreuses normes de communication avec différentes exigences, par ex. un mode de classe AB pour une forte linéarité et un mode de classe D pour une forte efficacité. Le transmetteur HF convient pour une implémentation sur puce. Dans des modes de réalisation préférés, le circuit de commande (4) génère un signal modulé d'amplitude (5) pour l'amplificateur de puissance (6) de manière à commander son mode de fonctionnement. De préférence, l'amplificateur de puissance (6) comprend des chemins séparés pour les signaux de modulation d'amplitude et les signaux de modulation de phase, par ex. implémentés sous forme de couplage de cascode différentiel avec une étape de mixage. Des modes de réalisation préférés sont basés sur une modulation NPWM de phase et des signaux d'amplitude, dans le domaine analogique ou numérique.
