  • the inoculum were made from bacteria grown on agar plates, which were diluted by physiological salt water and inoculated into a test solution of KDF/ethanol to ensure a bacterial concentration of 10 8 - 10 9 cfu/ml. Samples of 100 ⁇ l of the inoculated test solution were taken after 1, 3, 5, 10 and 30 minutes and diluted 1:100 with physiological salt water. The samples were diluted immediately after the sampling to prevent further influence of KDF on the microorganisms. Killing in the different solutions was determined by placing a 10 fold dilution series of the test solutions on plates.

  • the solutions of KDF and ethanol efficiently inhibited the growth of Listeria and could thus be well suited as a preservative agent for fish, fish products, feedstuffs and feed to be stored.
  • the product according to the invention has an anti microbial effect and with the results from the tests in Examples 1 - 3 it is highly probable that it will also be applicable and effective on products infected with Bacillus, Salmonella and Staphylococcus.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un produit aqueux destiné à la désinfection et à la conservation de poissons, de produits à base de poissons, de denrées et d'aliments et comprenant des formiates et de l'éthanol, ledit formiate étant du diformiate de potassium et la quantité de celui-ci étant comprise entre 1 et 25 % en poids, de préférence entre 5 et 15 % en poids, et la quantité d'éthanol étant comprise entre 0,5 et 10 % en poids, de préférence entre 1 et 5 % en poids. Le pH de la solution est compris entre 3,5 et 4,5, de préférence entre 4,0 et 4,5.
