Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for applying an adhesive material from a carrier tape to a substrate, which has a housing body which is designed and dimensioned for handling with one hand, a carrier tape unwinding spool arranged in the housing body, a carrier tape winding spool arranged in the housing body and one made of the Has housing body protruding attached to this application element with a line-shaped application edge, the carrier tape being guided from the carrier tape unwinding spool to the application edge and being returned around the latter to the carrier tape winding spool.
  • Such a device is known from EP 0656308 A1.
  • This known device has a rotatable application element so that the line-shaped application edge between a position in which the application edge is parallel to the axes of the carrier tape unwinding and carrier tape winding spool and a position in which the application edge is in a position perpendicular to the axes of the carrier tape unwinder and carrier tape take-up reel is variable.
  • This device has the advantage that, depending on the relative position of the application edge, different handling positions and thus different hand positions are possible when using the device or the device.
  • the devices known from EP 0656308 A1 have a flat housing body, which ideally corresponds approximately to a cuboid shape.
  • the elbow must be lifted off the substrate surface by the user when the applicator edge is positioned parallel to the axes of the carrier tape unwinding and carrier tape winding spool when the device is pulled parallel to the user.
  • the carrier tape unwinding and carrier tape winding spools are aligned perpendicular to the axes
  • Application edge of the user's elbows are guided in a pulling movement of the device parallel to the user placed on the substrate surface.
  • This second position is more convenient for the user and allows the device to be guided in a more targeted manner, which device in particular has adhesive or correction means as adhesive material.
  • a disadvantage of this known device is that when the applicator edge is aligned perpendicular to the spool axes, the carrier tape led out of the housing is rotated by 90 ° relative to its spool position and then has to be turned back by the same angle when it is re-inserted into the housing.
  • This requires a special guidance of the carrier tape in the housing and causes a special mechanical stress on the tape when the device is used, in which tape is continuously unwound from the carrier tape unwinding spool and taken up again by the carrier tape winding spool. Frictional forces occur which can impair the proper unwinding and rewinding of the carrier tape when handling the device. In particular, this can result in the carrier tape not being continuously wound onto the take-up reel.
  • this object is achieved in that the end of the housing body opposite the application element is essentially rotationally symmetrical or at least approximately rotationally symmetrical, in particular spherical or hemispherical.
  • the user can take the device in his hand, depending on his choice, regardless of the positioning of the application edge specified by the device or set on the device in relation to the axes of the carrier tape unwinding and carrier tape winding spool arranged in the housing body, in such a way that in the case of a pulling movement of the device parallel to the body of the user of the elbow is either placed on the substrate surface or raised from the substrate surface, without this leading to an unergonomic and uncomfortable handling or hand position with the mobility determined by the human limbs.
