Abstract
The present invention pertains to the field of medicine and may be used in intra-vascular surgery as well as in endoscopic surgery for placing stents in the biliary ducts, in the transurethral canal as well as in vessels after an angioplasty treatment. The device for placing an endo-prosthesis comprises a main catheter (1) in which an additional catheter (2) is provided. This device also includes an endo-prosthesis (6) in the shape of a hollow reticular body. The additional catheter (2) comprises a string (3) which is arranged inside a capillary catheter (5) and is provided with hooks (4) at the corresponding end. The pleating of the endo-prosthesis (6) hollow and reticular body is made from one thread and its ends are made in the shape of loops. The number of loops at each end is at least equal to four, wherein said loops are made of a material with resilient properties. The material with resilient properties may consist of nitinol and include the following components: from 54.99 to 56 wt.% of nickel, from 45 to 43.8 wt.% of titanium and from 0.01 to 0.2 wt.% of palladium. The material exhibiting resilient properties may also consist of stainless steel.
