Abstract

L'invention concerne une technique qui permet d'induire la résistance aux pathogènes chez les végétaux, caractérisée par le fait que lesdits végétaux sont transformés avec une cassette d'expression hébergeant un gène codant pour une isochorismate synthase. Plus spécifiquement, cette technique est caractérisée par le fait que le gène codant pour ladite synthase est choisi dans un groupe comprenant entC, orfA, pchA et ICS, ce dernier étant de préférence le gène ICS de Catharantus roseus. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne une technique conforme à la technique ci-dessus, caractérisée par le fait que les végétaux sont en outre transformés avec une cassette d'expression hébergeant un gène codant pour un isochorismate pyruvate lyase, de préférence situé sur la même cassette d'expression que le gène codant pour l'isochorismate synthase. Le gène codant pour l'isochorismate pyruvate lyase est de préférence choisi dans le groupe comprenant orfD et pchB. Un autre aspect de l'invention est une protéine présentant une activité isochorismate synthase, isolée à partir de Catharantus roseus. Un autre aspect de l'invention est la séquence nucléotidique comprenant la région régulatrice 5' qui naturellement régule l'expression du gène ICS chez Catharantus roseus.
