Abstract

The invention concerns a reconstructed wooden beam characterised in that it essentially comprises a central structure or core (1) and an external covering (2) secured to said central structure or core (1), said central structure or core (1) being made from pieces of wood (4) of at least one species, and in that part of the pieces of wood (3, 4) constituting the central structure or core (1) and the external covering (2) respectively has been previously heated at high temperature. The invention is useful for the decorative and structural construction of buildings.
