Abstract

La présente invention concerne des compositions d'ADN et leur utilisation dans la manipulation de la biosynthèse de composants chez des plantes. Plus spécifiquement, la présente invention concerne l'identification d'un nouveau gène et d'une nouvelle protéine impliqués dans les voies de phénylpropanoïde. La S-adénosyl-L-Met:(iso)eugénol O-methyltransférase (IEMT) permet de catalyser un transfert de méthyle vers la position hydroxyle C4 de composants de la voie de biosynthèse de phénylpropanoïde. Des procédés et des compositions ayant trait à l'utilisation de celle-ci sont décrits.
