Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé permettant de former des cavités dans un tissu osseux spongieux, conçues pour loger un implant osseux. L'invention vise à créer un instrument approprié, permettant d'accroître la stabilité primaire des implants utilisés ultérieurement et en général d'améliorer ainsi leur durée de vie. A cet effet, cet instrument présente une partie filetée (3), de préférence légèrement conique, et une tête (2) servant à la rotation de l'instrument (1). La surface enveloppante de la partie filetée, notamment sa forme pratiquement conique, la forme et l'inclinaison des flancs de filet, les rayons de transition entre les flancs de filet adjacents et la structure superficielle de la partie filetée (3) sont conçus de façon à repousser le matériau des parois de la cavité osseuse principalement vers l'extérieur dans le sens radial et à retirer le moins possible de matière osseuse sous l'action du filetage.
