Abstract
Des chélates représentés par la formule (Ib) sont jugés biodégradables quand une distance A varie entre 3,8 x 10-10 et 4,6 x 10-10m, une distance B varie entre 5,1 x 10-10 et 5,9 x 10-10m, et une distance C varie entre 4,3 et 6,7 x 10-10m. Des composés correspondant à ces critères sont qualifiés de composés de formule 2. Outre des procédés d'analyse et des systèmes informatiques nécessaires, l'invention concerne un procédé permettant la chélation d'un ion métal pour former un chélate et la biodégradation de ce chélate. Ce procédé consiste a) à mettre l'ion métal en contact avec au moins un composé de formule 2 pour former un chélate et b) à mettre le chélate résultant en contact avec des microbes du type précisé dans ASTM 2667-89 ou ISO 5815 ou avec leurs enzymes efficaces, dans des conditions et pendant une durée suffisante pour une biodégradation, de façon que 1) le chélate formé à l'étape a) le soit dans le cadre d'un processus d'élimination de dépôts, de tartre, ou de rouille; de nettoyage ou de lavage; de lutte contre une oxydation ou une détérioration commencée ou catalysée par un métal, y compris une dégradation, une décoloration ou un rancissement; dans un traitement pour textiles; la fabrication du papier; la stabilisation de polymères ou de phosphates; ou le forage, la production ou la récupération concernant le pétrole; ou bien de façon que 2) le chélate formé à l'étape a) soit utilisé avant l'étape b) comme catalyseur d'oxydo-réduction; dans un processus de blanchiment, blanchiment-fixage ou développement photographique; dans les dépôts ou placages chimiques; dans l'élimination de gaz contenant des acides ou des oxydes, y compris H¿2?S, NOx, SOx, CO et CO2; ou dans l'obtention de substances nutritives destinées à l'agriculture.
