Description

BremsscheibeBrake disc
The invention relates to a brake disc composed of a friction ring and a holding part for a disc brake, preferably for motor vehicles, according to the preamble of claim 1.
A generic brake disc is known from DE-AS 2 013 535. In the known brake disc, a cast friction ring is fastened to a bowl-shaped holding part formed from sheet metal by plastic deformation. The inside of the friction ring is provided with continuous air channels for the passage of cooling air and has a relatively complicated shape. The same also applies to the section-shaped holding part, which requires several work steps in the manufacture and which has to be reworked in particular to compensate for manufacturing tolerances.
The object of the invention is to provide a brake disc, the components of which have simple basic shapes and can therefore be produced simply and inexpensively with a few steps.
The solution to the problem results from the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
The friction ring according to the invention can be punched out or cast from a piece of sheet metal in a single work step, without the need for a post-processing step. The holding part according to the invention can be produced by two work steps, one deep-drawing process and one punching process being sufficient. As described in process claim 5 the holding part and the friction ring are assembled to form the finished brake disc by axially pushing the holding part onto the friction ring and radially flanging the teeth of the holding part. The teeth first engage axially in the recesses and establish a positive connection in the direction of rotation, by means of which the torques occurring during braking are supported. When the teeth are flanged, a positive connection is produced in the axial direction, which permanently and securely connects the holding part and the friction ring, while maintaining a certain elasticity in the radial direction which serves to compensate for temperature-related expansion of the components.
The invention has a number of advantages. Because of their simple geometry, both the holding parts and the friction ring can be produced in a simple manner with a few work steps. A simple forming technique can be used to form the holding part. As a result, the manufacture of the brake disc is significantly cheaper. In addition, there is less tool wear and higher quality due to fewer error opportunities with fewer work steps.
The subordinate claims 2 to 4 describe advantageous embodiments of the invention. A rectangular configuration of the teeth of the holding part and a corresponding shape of the recesses in the friction ring ensure reliable transmission of the torque occurring during braking without the connection being loaded in the axial direction and possibly being loosened. A particularly simple shape of the friction ring is achieved by recesses which are open radially inwards. If these recesses are evenly distributed, the Friction rings a radially inwardly directed tooth profile, which can effectively and functionally engage with the axially directed tooth profile of the holding part in a simple and functional manner.
An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.
Es zeigen:Show it:
Figur 1 eine perspektivische Teilansicht eines Reibrings und eines Halteteils vor dem Zusammenbau,FIG. 1 shows a partial perspective view of a friction ring and a holding part before assembly,
Figur 2 denselben Reibring und Halteteil im Schnitt vor dem Zusammenbau,FIG. 2 shows the same friction ring and holding part in section before assembly,
Figur 3 eine perspektivische Teilansicht desselben Reib¬ rings und Halteteils nach dem Zusammenbau,FIG. 3 shows a perspective partial view of the same friction ring and holding part after assembly,
Figure 4 the same friction ring and holding part in section after assembly.
Auch die Zähne 10 sind rechteckig aus¬ gebildet.FIG. 1 shows a section of a friction ring 1 and a section of a bowl-shaped holding part 2 formed from sheet metal before these two parts are joined to form a brake disk. The friction ring 1 is provided in its inner edge region 3 with rectangular, radially inwardly open recesses 4, which are arranged evenly distributed over the inner edge region 3. Between the recesses 4, the inner edge area 3 of the insert 1 forms rectangular, radially inwardly projecting teeth 5. The friction ring 1 itself consists of gray cast iron. The holding part 2 is formed by deep drawing from a piece of sheet metal and has an essentially cylindrical basic shape with a jacket 6 and a bottom 7. The bottom 7 is provided with a central opening 8 for the passage of a rad axis and with screw holes 9 for fastening the Holding part 2 provided on a wheel hub of a vehicle. The jacket 6 of the holding part 2 has a plurality of teeth 10 which are distributed uniformly over the circumference and which extend from the outer edge region 11 of the holding part 2 in the axial direction. The teeth 10 are also rectangular.
After the production of the friction ring 1 and the holding part 2, these two parts are joined together to form a brake disc according to the invention by the friction ring 1 being plugged onto the holding part 2 in the direction of arrow 12 (FIG. 1) or vice versa. The teeth 10 of the holding part 2 engage in the recesses 4 of the friction ring 1. The teeth 10 of the holding part 2 are then flanged radially outwards, the finished brake disc shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 being produced. It is not necessary to rework the brake disc.
