Abstract

A product of modification of a vegetable raw material is a product obtained by treating the vegetable raw material with alkaline solution while feeding oxygen or air in the presence of compounds of transition metals chosen from the 4th row of the periodical system of elements and containing salts of carbonic, oxicarbonic, amino carbonic and oxiaromatic acids at the content ratio of carboxyl groups from 0.1 to 40.0 % by weight taking the dry weight of the product. A method for obtaining the claimed product consists in treating the vegetable raw material with aqueous alkaline solution having pH 10-15 in the presence of compounds of transition metals chosen from the 4th row of the periodical system of elements, while feeding oxygen or air with subsequent separation of the desired product. The claimed product is used as an adhesive substance, an additive to drilling mud and as antipyrene.
