Be it known that I, THOMAS WILES, of Indianapolis, in the county of Marion, and State of Indiana., have invented a. new and useful Improvement on Jacks; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact' description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, a.ndv to the letters of reference marked thereon. v

The nature of my invention consists in constructing n box, A, with a. closed side4 and bottom, H G. The

` top, F, is partly closed, so ns to permit the jack D to pass through it. The opposite side to H is open for the lever B to Work in. This lever B rests on the fulcrum C, and bears very large leverage placed upon the jack D.. On the opposite side is the check E f nstened to the box at I. The red lines on drawings indicate how thejaiek works. I can raise an immense weight with my'jeck, and produce one for a very limited sum of money.. It is handy, easily transported, and does-not get out of order.

What I clalim as my invention, and desire to secure by Lettters Patent of the United States,4 is- The combination of the box A with the lever B, fulcrum C, jack D, and check E, applied to a lever-jack.
