Be it known that Ig, Jem# MARSHALL, of Hartland, in the county of Livingston, und State of Michigan, have inven ted a. new and useful improvement in Reves-Trough Holders; and Ido hercbT declare thatthe following is a. full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will eno-'ole others skilleiiin theart toA make and use thc same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, fermingpnrt oi' this specification. i
This invention relates to a-n improvement in eaves-trough holders, and consists in im arrangement of metal .straps and ties by which the trough is hindered fromrrisingoutof its sent, and kept securely in place. A is the roof-board; B, the friezc-bonrd; C, a bruce of hoop or other iron, which muy he made in one piece with the bracket D, or of a separate piece, secured to the frioie-hoztrd by nails, pegs, or screws at c c. E is another bracket, adapted to any angle of the hoard, also-secured to the boa-rd utc, and to the bracket D at d. The strep H, of hoop iron .or other suitzihle material, is shaped to the trough; und, when made of iron, is covered with the tin strap I to protect it from corrosion. K is a. bra-ce or strap of tin or other suitable material, passing up the trough `from its lowest point, over its out-er edge, toV the roof-board, where it is secured with nails, or in any :appropriate manner; A bolt, L, passes through I H, the inner fold of F, through andi?, bolting them securely together. Another bolt, Z, passes through the horizontal portion of brnoket D, securi'ngitandstraps K, H, and I firmly together. I 1 i j i i The advantages of' my improved holder are greater soiidity and greater ease in fixing and removing the trough. i 5 Y The holders can he set in pince in the eaves, and the trough soldered together till the requisite length is obtained, `and then set bodiljr in place, and secured by tightening down the l-ip F, and folding over and nailing or otherwise securing the strap K to roof.
What I elnim as new, `and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is i rlhe brackets D and E, in combination with the strap H vend the strap K, folding over the trough, and securing it tothe roof, substantially as and for the purposes-described.
