Die erwarteten Werte der Fahrprofileigenschaften werden im Rahmen der Erfindung mit den Ist-Werten der Fahrprofileigenschaften verglichen. Die durch den Vergleich ermittelten Unterschiede werden dann anhand vorgegebener Entscheidungskriterien im Fahrzeug bewertet. Die Übermittlung der erfaßten Daten an die Zentrale findet gemäß dieser Bewertung nur in den Fällen statt, in denen dies nach den Entscheidungskriterien vorgesehen ist. Die Fahrprofileigenschaften im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung dienen dazu, ein Fahrprofil in einigen wenigen Kriterien oder Kenngrößen zusammenzufassen, um es dann auf möglichst einfache Weise auf Verträglichkeit mit einem fiktiven Fahrprofil, das der jeweiligen Verkehrslage gemäß der empfangenen Verkehrsinformation entspricht, prüfen zu können. Im einfachsten Fall könnte beispielsweise die mittlere Geschwindigkeit in einem vorgegebenen Zeit- bzw. Streckenintervall als charakteristische Eigenschaft herangezogen werden.
