In 1906, Madam C.J. Walker made a bold business decision: putting her own image on her product containers. As her great-great-granddaughter A'Lelia Bundles shares, "To say that I'm beautiful enough to put myself on this product container... was quite radical." Through groundbreaking brand strategies, Walker built one of America's first Black-owned beauty empires. This family legacy is documented in a vibrant biography titled 'Joy Goddess' by the award-winning journalist. Discover more about this pioneering family in our latest Audible interview with editor Yvonne Durant.
