A £5.9m project to install a new railway bridge at Bowling in West Dunbartonshire is underway as part of a major project to unlock future development of the former Exxon site. 

The vast majority of the rail network will be open for business over the August bank holiday, so passengers can make the most of the long summer weekend to visit friends and family and travel to the hundreds of events taking place across Britain.

Network Rail (Wales and Borders) has started a comprehensive programme of engineering works across key rail corridors in South Wales as part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving rail infrastructure.

South Western Railway passengers on the Hounslow Loop should be aware that buses replace trains between Kew Bridge and Barnes will be closed between 23 and 31 August while we complete vital strengthening works on Barnes Bridge.

Passengers and pedestrians using Longport station in Stoke-on-Trent are being reminded of major improvements to the station's footbridge this summer.

Passengers using the Cross City North line between Birmingham and Lichfield are being reminded no trains will run for seven days starting on Monday.

Buses will replace trains on the lines surrounding Guildford over the August Bank Holiday weekend Saturday 23rd August – Monday 25th August while vital engineering improvements are carried out on the South Western Railway network.
