This comprehensive project will replace two structurally deficient bridges on Route 113 where it passes over I-95 and I-295, carrying approximately up to 33,000 vehicles per day. Route 113 is a major east-west corridor for Warwick, linking large residential and commercial areas including access to the Community College of Rhode Island’s Knight Campus. The project includes paving, sidewalk work, ADA accessibility, new traffic signal upgrades, new pedestrian crossing features, and many other safety improvements along other important corridors in the city.

We have a multitude of overnight operations happening at this project next week. We plan to install deck panels on I-95 South at the East Avenue overpass with two left lanes closed from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. and a full road closure from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. On Monday-Thursday nights, we'll also install deck panels on both directions of I-95 at the East Avenue overpass, with alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. We are also scheduled to install PBUs (precast bridge units), or beams with deck panels attached, on I-295 South at the East Avenue overpass. Motorists should anticipate a left lane closure on Monday and Tuesday nights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., then a full road closure from 10 p.m. to 6 am. Moving over to I-295 North at the East Avenue overpass, we'll have a left lane closure to install PBUs on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., then a full road closure from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please follow signed detours during all closures. |
