How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The only downside was that there were some ants in the room, and they did bite, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable at times.
Overall, I had a good stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, which was the most important thing for me. The staff were friendly, the blankets and towels were clean, and the room included a safety deposit box. One of the best features is that the hotel offers free luggage storage – both if you arrive early and even after check-out, which was very convenient. The price was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of service

There was a bad sniff in room Some buttons were that in room not working Floor was shaking while someone is walking at next room (Not good while sleeping)

There was no air conditioning or a fan so it was impossible to cool the room down

The wood is super small you simply don’t have where to leave the suitcase, it wasn’t that clean there. Bed makes terrible noises once someone want to change the position, you immediately wake up.
Nice location, good place to stay over 1 night.

Rude cleaners, all Chinese who barely speak English. Bed sheets weren’t changed in one week. Very hot in summer. Curtains don’t block the light. Elevator broken.

Outdated furniture and windows, does not block out street noise, I don't want to know about cold in the winter... weird shower curtain that doesn't block water and half of bathroom will flood with water...
A+ location behind Concertgebouw, competitive pricing for Amsterdam, and friendly staff.

The reception staff was helpful. The room had a good size and a nice balcony. The restroom wasn’t clean, we even found the trash can full, and an ear swab dirty on the carpet, location was 35 walk from the center.

The cleanliness of bed sheets could've been better. They weren't dirty, but you could see and feel they were not as clean as they should be (especially because they were white). The window in the room was leaking, so when it was cold or raining outside, some drops managed to ged inside the room and fall onto the windowsill. Also the bin in the room is really small, you can't fit any bigger garbage inside- the cleaning staff is really helpful in this instance.
The hotel is in a really great location, it is really close to the Van Gogh museum and other known places in Amsterdam. The staff was really friendly, and helpful. The entrance to the hotel and lift are open 24/7 so there is no problem with entering and leaving the place in any given moment. In the reception you have some nice discount coupons to use- its a pleasent touch. Also the safe inside the room is a lifesaver, since there are no cabinets or wardrobe inside the place.

My room was so cold and could hear the guests coming home at night as were super loud ( not the fault of the hotel staff though ).
Comfortable, location great, easy to get to airport. Bikes for rent.
