This place is good for a getaway and being remote.
This place is good for a getaway and being remote. You are very good distance from the city. They had two sides the adult or preferred pool was quiet side. The family side was where games and bigger pools were. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were ample in size. The food was just ok. Not a lot ofnoptions after couple of days. Lol only issue I had was the animals. You will see raccoons at night roaming and eating off the room service plates left outside. Which I think staff should have not left out like that. And raccoons can be dangerous. Also the wifi would go in and out. Lastly if you want to do things in the city, stay in the city. It was hard getting users from.time to time. And the place doesn't offer shuttle service to the city unless you are paying for it. It's like $20-$30 a person. Oh the weight room was nice.Guest review byVictorUnited States - 8.0
San Carlos is a very sleepy town that shuts down by 8:00 PM.
San Carlos is a very sleepy town that shuts down by 8:00 PM. It’s a great place if you just want to relax but I would recommend renting a car if you enjoy eating later in the evening. There is only one Uber driver for the area so do not count on Uber. Taxis were more plentiful depending on time of day. We stayed 4 nights. 3 would have been sufficient. El Palmer beach has nice big waves that are great for jumping and beginner surfing.Guest review byRobinCanada - 2.0
This place is located in the boonies.
This place is located in the boonies. The front desk worker Elvis was the only positive thing I can say about this property. The restaurant staff were rude, lazy, and racist. They don’t like Americans but love US dollars. I would recommend Boca Chica in Chiriqui over this place any day.Guest review byJoseUnited States - 4.0
Playa Coronado was unusual.
Playa Coronado was unusual. I stayed elsewhere up the mountain but got a taxi to take me there. It was night-time by then. We had to go through a 'checkpoint' with a few guards on the road in. They let us in with no problems after asking the driver where we were going. . Playa Coronado is an entire gated large suburb with many mansions and a few restaurants. I wanted to get out and see the beach. The taxi driver insisted on coming with me. We walked down a passageway with high concrete walls on either side. The beach was not very wide. Nothing special. The next beach up was Gorgona, a public beach and possibly better. I did not have time to go to Gorgona Maybe I'm missing something but Playa Coronado was not my cup of tea.Guest review byMicheleAustralia - 6.0
The resort could use some upgrades. The staff was helpful.
The resort could use some upgrades. The staff was helpful. For as much as we spent to stay at an all-inclusive I expected more. The food was not very good. We only ate breakfast there, and after to days we went out to eat. All the pools and outside bars close a 7pm. Overall it was a decent stay, but I would research other places first.Guest review byLydellUnited States - 10.0
The tranquil vibe of the resort was perfect.
The tranquil vibe of the resort was perfect. The garden and the covered terrace provided relaxation in the shade from the sun and the relaxing sound of rain landing on palm fronds during the normal daily tropical rain that’s common during the time of year that we visited. Just a step outside the garden and we were on the beach. The children played in the sand and gathered seashells while my wife and I relaxed in the shade. Our son fell asleep in the hammock between two palm trees. Life is good.Guest review byAaronUnited States - 10.0

Punta Chame is a peninsula were you feel that mass tourism has not arrived yet. It is very authentic and has a very special atmosphere were you can enjoy a mix of see and mountain views. There are not too many good restaurants around but we had a great experience at Casa Amarilla which is run by an italian family established there since a few years. It is a great location to have a feel of the panamean culture and lifestyle away from the classic touristic routes.Guest review byCarlosSpain - 10.0

We love this place. The beach is just a short walk away. There are plenty of restaurants offering opportunities to enjoy the local cuisine, including fresh fish. For golf enthusiasts, a nice golf course.Guest review byMarekCzech Republic - 8.0
There is virtually no beach. the water comes up to the edge...
There is virtually no beach. the water comes up to the edge of the property at high tide , so there is no lounging there. The water is very shallow. That was disappointing. In addition, the stairways are high stone steps and the railings to ascend or descend are very rickety. More importantly, they do not go all the way down, so I actually injured myself on the step trying to go back up to the pool area. The Hyatt Ziva we stayed at had a full time medical doctor on site. This place could use the same, even part-time coverage would be an improvement over the ill-equipped "First Aid Kit" carried by one woman with little training (not her fault). The food was good, but the wait for the seafood restaurant was ridiculously long. They could double the size of their kitchen in order to accommodate patrons. The closing of each restaurant for a day each caused a back-up on those days. The food at the Ziva was better. The rooms and balconies at Playa Bonita were spacious and well attended to, including the beds, towels etc. We did a few sightseeing day trips all of which were great, especially the one to the Panama Canal: fantastic!Guest review byJeffreyUnited States - 8.0
Beach was nice, clean and quite, but the hotel beach club...
Beach was nice, clean and quite, but the hotel beach club not so much. Facilities are old and need big-time maintenance. Old beach chairs, tables, and a small pool. Thankfully it was only 4 people at the club otherwise it would have been very crowded. The restaurant's variety is good, you can find anything you need around the area. Pharmacies, restaurants, and grocery stores,Guest review byAriadne BasurtoPanama
