We stayed at Tokyo in 2 parts, the first part of the trip (6 days) and the last one (2 days). It has so much to see that a few days aren't enough. You can see the main points in a few days, but it will be rushed and some things will pass by. Child dream, finally come true. Surpassed every expectation. Eager to return. Would live there easily. Is that good!!! Things we did there: Kart trip inside city Lots of temples Shibuya Cross and Shibuya Sky Asakusa is a really good place to live Be prepared when going to Shinjuku station (we weren't), its a small city on its own underground. In my honest oppinion, skip the robot cafe (Pepper Parlor). Is a novelty, yes, but only that. The robot interactions are quite limited and the food is so-so. Had a better experience with the Dawn Avatar Robot Café, wich as a more altruist goal, a bit pricy, but good experience. About food in general, there is no mistaking, most places are good. One golden rule: Has cue and locals? Then is good.Guest review byGreizy e RicardoPortugal - 10.0
Love this neighbourhood.
Love this neighbourhood. I lived in Japan for several years, 2 decades ago, and I have gone back a few times for a visit. First time for me to be in Tachikawa. It has great vibe, a bit of hustle bustle, but not crowded and suffocating like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Not touristy at all and you can observe locals doing their everyday business if that is your thing.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Fuchu was a wonderful town to stay in on the outskirts of Tokyo. It has a slower, more relaxed atmosphere than central tokyo. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do and see. The tree lined main street leading to the temple was beautiful. And there were some local parks that were nice to walk to.Guest review bymitchUnited States - 10.0
The city is literally amazing.
The city is literally amazing. Everything you could want is right there in your hotel or walking distance. Great cafes, izakayas, shopping, exploring-literally everything. Not as busy as some areas in Tokyo, and I fell in love. Will be back soon.Guest review byChristopherUnited States - 10.0

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku or the Yokohama Line into Yokohama if you need to hit the big time. Still comoared to most North American towns, Westerners will think Machida is HUUUUGE and super busy. For Kanto region I'd saw it's a hub for Kanagawa but manageable. Food choices at and around the station are excellent. Hotels are way cheaper than in central Tokyo yet you are only 30 to 60 mins on any train to wherever you need to go. Direct buses from Narita and Henda airports as well so no need to deal with hauling luggage on trains. Or just takyubin (courier) luggage to Mahcida from airport.Guest review byBDonutCanada - 8.0
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities.
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities. But you will likely need to rent a car to reach some of the more remote areas easily. There are buses and taxis, but you may have to wait quite a bit of time. Many of the restaurants will close during the afternoon and early evening, so be sure to have some snacks prepared or stay in a place with a kitchen.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo.
Kichijoji is a great area in the western suburbs of Tokyo. We explored the beautiful Inokashira Park and other points further west such as Chofu and Koganei. We ate at a great izakaya that specialises in squid called Totomaro. There's plenty of shopping, including Don Quijote and Yuzawaya. Kichijoji is on the Chuo line which connects with Shinjuku and Tokyo stations. It's also really well serviced with buses.Guest review byDeborahAustralia - 10.0
Be careful of their public transportation.
Be careful of their public transportation. There are 2 sets of train system which doesn't accept the same ticket. Great way to get around Tokyo is the subway system. It can be daunting in the beginning but once you get the hang of it then its a breeze. Be prepared to do a lot of walking with a lot of people. It seems this city, is the city that never sleeps.Guest review byVictor GUnited States - 10.0

I went to Tachikawa for a concert at Tachikawa Stage Garden and it was my very first time visiting there. Life in Tachikawa seems to be a bit more laid-back than central Tokyo even though it's a big city as well. Meaning, you get to enjoy the convience and entertainment of what big cities offer, but it's a bit less crowded and less chaotic. Showa Kinen National Park is a great place. I spent two afternoons there to clear my head and connect with nature. Highly recommend. I'll definately be back for the unexplored spots such as the art museums and many eateries.Guest review byPei HsuanUnited Kingdom
