I walked around Trier and saw many things.
I walked around Trier and saw many things. One of my favorites was the cathedral and the adjoining basilica. I also was amazed at the Porta Nigra and Constantine’s basilica. The Hauptmarkt was a lot of fun to explore and enjoy the cafés. I had a great meal at one of the restaurants in the hauptmarkt, excellent German food and a great selection of beer. For anyone who likes to knit, as I do, Leyendecker bastelstube is a great place to buy yarn and lots of other craft materials.Guest review byJenniferBelgium - 8.0

A nice little town with a lovely castle but other than visiting the castle not much to do unless you are a hiker so would only recommend a short stay. Very little variance in for, too many pizza joints.Guest review byDouglasCanada - 10.0

There are lot of wineries, vineyards and hiking routes near the hotel. The drive to other villages (for example, Cochem, Bernkastel kues, etc.) on the banks of Mosel is very pleasant. The boat ride on the Mosel is very enjoyable. If you like wine, this wine region is a good place to visit.Guest review byAbhijit DebNetherlands - 10.0
The area was beautiful for walking around the little towns
The area was beautiful for walking around the little towns We caught local bus to Cochem for the day -- which was very easy we travelled in October so a few places had closed but still enough places to eat and have a glass of wineGuest review byRhondaAustralia - 10.0
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking.
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking. The hiking trail to Burg Eltz was very nice, I did the black route. The last part is the heaviest part. I went to the viewing point of the castle and then went back. I did that because there is an entrance fee that you have to pay for the castle, even if you just want to order food and drinks. In the afternoon I went to Mörsdorf to visit the Geierlay hanging bridge, which was awesome. Note that the bus (line 746) does not go there every hour and that the line is not currently on Google Maps. So search online for the schedule or visit the tourist office in the train station. During my stay the buses ran from the water-side of the station instead of the official bus stop, so double check if that is the case for you. Both these things could have been their own day, since there are more hiking trails available in both places.Guest review byAri FijanNetherlands - 10.0
We go to Bad bertrich for total relaxation.
We go to Bad bertrich for total relaxation. We park the car and don't touch it for the entire stay. It's so lovely to walk everywhere. We love the Spa, the only Glaubersalz Spa in Germany, and our aching bones feel much better within a short space of time. If you love to walk, this is a great place to come to!Guest review byLouiseUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Family vacation house on the Mosel
Family vacation house on the Mosel 3 generations of one family (and a dog) – spent here 2 nights in May, 2024. This house is a very good place for family vacation: 3 bedrooms, a kitchen with a dinner table, a living room and 2 good bathrooms. Pet-friendly – this is fortunately typical for Germany. Distances: ~ 100m from Mosel. ~ 1.3 km to Edeka supermarket, ~ 7 km to Cochem center. There are also 2 minor “cons”: no dishwash machine and no Mosel view. Friendly host. Recommended for family vacation.Guest review bySergey VorobyevNetherlands - 10.0

The main problem for us was the fact that parking is difficult and extremely expensive. When having bikes withe you , its difficult to find no pay parking away from the centre. On restauarants , quite a few serve acceptable simple menues, but price wise they often go over the top. Even simple lunch facilities in shopping centres are over the top with pricing ans we have seen visitors after seeing the menue walking out and you can guess why. Bike path river side is fineGuest review byWilhelmusNetherlands
