Went specifically for a concert. Only stayed one night.
Went specifically for a concert. Only stayed one night. Wished we’d stayed longer…..there was a ‘good vibe in the city centre. The only down side - bloody electric scooters and bikes whizzing around everywhere at ridiculous speeds, even in the pedestrian areas 🙄Guest review byAnonymousIsle of Man - 8.0
We know Mansfield very well and returned for a look around,...
We know Mansfield very well and returned for a look around, although the town centre is not much different to any other area, there are some beautiful and interesting places to see close by. We visited The Carrs at Warsop, Clumber Park, Carr Bank Park in Mansfield, the Dukeries Garden Centre etc. The snow curtailed some of the activities we had had planned, as we had intended to visit some old haunts within Sherwood Forest itself. Sadly Mansfield Museum is a bit lacking in information, but there is some of the history of Mansfield industrial past, which was very interesting. If you have never been go with the intention of visiting the surrounding area you would not be disappointed.Guest review bypamUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Attractive town, historic buildings, River Trent - all...
Attractive town, historic buildings, River Trent - all lovely features; and Sherwood Forest and Rufford Park in easy reach. Newark Civil War Centre is very interesting and there are many old buildings in the town. Independent shops and Sarurday market. Sourhwell Minster is not far away and cities - Lincoln (similarly much historical interest) and Nottingham - are each about 20 miles drive. Good pubs and restaurants too. Koinonia (Kerala food) is a favourite.Guest review byMaureenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Worksop is a Gateway to explore North Notts, South Yorkshire...
Worksop is a Gateway to explore North Notts, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. It has an abundance of beautiful parks, Historic Houses and Golf courses on its doorstep that you are spoiled for choice. Sheffield, Doncaster, Gainsborough, Chesterfield Mansfield and Nottingham are all within easy reach. Edwinstowe and Sherwood Forest, which is probably Nottinghamshire biggest tourist attraction is only six miles away and is also where Center Parcs (Sherwood) is located. There are numerous eating establishments which give value for money. So, it's your choice.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great large hotel. Very very clean.
Great large hotel. Very very clean. It smelt beautiful everywhere you walked. Very spacious rooms. Plenty of rooms to just sit and chill with free coffee or tea and on the afternoon a piece of fruit or a cake or biscuits all free. Plenty of tables and chairs to sit outside with a coffee after breakfast. Getting in and around Eastwood was easy. Plenty of shops bars and food outlets nearby. We went to Aeropark in East Midlands and Bluebell farm for the little one and they were great days out.Guest review byKateUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We had a lovely stay at Grange House.
We had a lovely stay at Grange House. It was perfect location for an event the next day at Holme Pierre Pont. We were able to take our little dog and he was made to feel very welcome. Kevin recommended a local pub for an evening meal in the village of Lowdham called the Swan. The food and reception were excellent. We would certainly stay here again.Guest review byrobertUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Southwell is a delight.
Southwell is a delight. The Minster and gardens are worth a visit. Everyone we met was very friendly and considerate. A car even stopped to let us cross the road. Maybe the warm weather lifted everyone's spirits.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0
I only stayed the one night.
I only stayed the one night. I had a meal in the local Gurkha restaurant which was good and within budget, the staff were very friendly. Also there is a Italian take away facing the Horse and Jockey which looked good.Guest review byJoan
