A fine example of medieval Irish castle, though in ruins. The chapel is especially worth a look. And the Sheela-na-gig is located on the corner of the outside wall of the old rectory, which is now the museum. We were two touring motorcyclists and she advised us on the most scenic routes as well as suggesting places to eat. The hotel is an historic property with an easy walk to Cashel town and the famous Rock of Cashel. It's literally a 1-2 minute walk away. We also loved that it was walking distance from the rock of Cashel, lots of lovely pubs, hairdressers and cafes. The beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped (even had an air fryer!) and there was plenty of towels in the utility. The Hotel is very very old but the standard of the decor in our rooms and in the public rooms was excellent. The evening meal in the restaurant was really good quality and reasonably priced. The restaurant was buzzing with atmosphere.
