With a rental car, it is a convenient base to explore Amanohashidate, Ine and some of the Fukui prefecture areas of Wakasa and Obama for the lovely beaches. We selected the renovated twin room and it was clean, spacious and we slept comfortably. The eco-cleaning of towel replacement and trash removal met our needs for a 2-night stay. It is very chill, quiet (only woken by the sound of birds by the river) and spacious (we had the room with 5 beds and living area). There is a fully equipped kitchen you can use, bathroom for guests, 5 minutes stroll to restaurants, and 20 mins to Amanohashidate resort by boat, bus or train. Room was huge, with both Japanese and western area and the hot spring bath inside the room is excellent for my travel partner who is not comfortable using the public hot spring facilities. The two meals included were decadent, with lots of courses. Staff was friendly, attentive and the Japanese staff can communicate adequately in English. The location is great being next to the train/bus station and on the doorstep of the amanohashidate isthmus. It was good value for money when you're looking to spend a bit more as there aren't too many hostels in the area. You get to use the really fancy onsen at the hotel next door too which is awesome. Very cute traditional Japanese rooms and beautiful views, big rooms, nice onsen, that I could use after hours because of my tattoos (They’re very agreeable).
