What a city! This southeastern city in Northeast Florida is a city of land, sea, and large rivers. There are several areas of water, beaches, biking, camping, shopping, and eating activities. This is an affordable city to vacation in. Plan to visit a thought-provoking museum like MOSH, The Ritz, The Cummer, and religious institutions. There is an Under The Bridge shopping area, for locally produced items made up of materials and foods. You may sit there at the Saint Johns River and listen to weekly music or local presentations. Jacksonville is close to Amelia Island and St Augustine so we visited both. We went to the Southbank Riverwalk and we visited The Ritz Theatre. We had a great time just riding around Jacksonville looking at the sights in the city.Guest review byRosemaryUnited States - 4.0

Tub need to be slip proof. Not being mean but if staff ( housekeepers)don't speak english, that's difficult for both of us. If you need extra toilet paper,don't bother calling front desk.You have to go get it. Best part of our stay was the friendly front desk staff. We googled the restaurants to go to before our trip. Plenty of restaurants within 10 miles or less. River city Mall was only a few minutes away. I do recommend eating at BJ and a place called "Memaws" Small Cafe but the good was excellent and the owners were very friendly. Several carbbean joints on Lem Turner. Very seedy areas. We passed it twice looking for it. Area didn't look safe. A few restaurants are closed on Mondays. Get down to the free breakfast downstairs early or you'll be waiting over an hour.
