It was literally the closest hotel to the Universal Studios Japan entrance. Lawson market in the lobby made quick breakfasts cheap before an expensive eating day at USJ. Rooms were VERY comfortable and spacious.

The hotel was wonderful. We stayed here for attending the World Expo, and it is a very convenient location since the subway line it is on, is also the line that goes straight to the Expo. The room was reasonably sized, so large enough for two people. The staff members were very helpful when it came to helping us with retrieving, and then forwarding, our luggage. The attached breakfast was not overly impressive, but it was tasty and had a decent variety. The bar inside the hotel has very nice staff, and a nice ambiance. This place has a very nice attached onsen, that has morning hours reserved for hotel guests only. As a hotel guest, you can also enjoy the entire spa experience (once its opens to the public) for a hotel-guest price.

FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

although the city itself didn't have a lot to do in comparison to others, it was very handy for day trips. i was able to day trips to nara and kyoto. the food in osaka was very good and there were some really tasty and affordable food spots dotted around the city. i think if i'd had more time in japan i would've spent less time in osaka and done 2-3 nights in kyoto and then stayed in kobe and hiroshima instead, though if anyone is every considering going to japan, osaka is still a must.

We stayed in 3 different hotels within 1km of Namba Kansai Airport station during 10 day trip. This is the main transport hub in Namba with tourist information office at the front facing out onto the pedestrianised plaza. GU shopping level 6 is across the street, bus to Aquarium is on the corner of the street, subway navigation needed from here to get to Osaka Castle and Universal Studios. The other Namba station to go to Nara is a 500m walk via underpass concourse accessed near the TIO. Keep in mind the train ticket to Kansai is bought on 2nd floor and mainline trains go from Umeda not Namba. Take train to Kyoto from Umeda. Kintetsu line at 2nd Namba station to Nara. Beware of restaurants who charge a service fee if you don't order a drink and when the drink is more than the service fee, annoying when you have childre. Osaka is not a pretty city but it is a functional one for transport hub, food variety and sightseeing. Oppressively hot to near 40 Celsius in early July.

Osaka is a vibrant, food-centric city in Japan, known for its lively atmosphere, friendly locals, and delicious street food. It's often called "The Nation's Kitchen" due to its rich culinary scene. While it's a major metropolis, it has a more relaxed feel than Tokyo, and its efficient public transportation makes it easy to get around.

Osaka impressed us with its raw energy and unapologetic character. The World Expo was a highlight—well-organized, futuristic, yet deeply human in its storytelling and optimism. Beyond the Expo, walking through Osaka revealed a city alive with contrasts: neon-soaked chaos next to quiet shrines, street food alongside sleek malls. It’s a place that grows on you—not by perfection, but by personality.

    Osaka has a great vibe.

Osaka has a great vibe. Vibrant, welcoming and quality cuisine at your doorstep. A mix of modern attractions and historical sites in a compact city, Cool neighbourhoods for retail therapy, selling unique independant brands and a thriving nightlife. A myriad of izakayas and spoilt for choice when it comes to dining, providing you with a local experience in the heart of the city. A great base for exploring the Kansai region, including Kyoto, Nara and Kobe.

The food in Osaka is amazing and with reasonable prices, even in tourist spots. However Osaka is way too alike to Hong Kong, I would rather stay for 2-3days for food here and spend more time to travel to nearby cities or areas.

Hotel's location is just across Kuromon Ichiba Market where you can have street food and seafood with fair price and also less than 10 minutes walk from Ebisu bashi suji shopping street all the way through Dotonbori and Shinsai bashi suji shopping street. Nippombashi station is just 100 metres away and can walk through Namba Walk Area shopping underground. Room is quite spacious compared to any hotels in Tokyo with the same price. Overall, i highly recommended this hotel for stay during visiting Osaka especially around Namba and Dotonbori.

There are so many things that stand out for this hotel. Starting with breakfast they have a large variety of Japanese, continental options. The ideal location close to namba station makes it accessible by train from airport and metro trains. The staff is professional courteous and accommodating. They have laundry machines and the lobby has free tea/coffee 24 hrs. The room service is great and the rooms are clean and well arranged. I would recommend this place for stay in Osaka.

You can't beat the value. The room was basic, but clean and had everything necessary for a short stay. The staff were polite. The hotel is close to Shin-Imamiya Station, which is on the KIX-Namba rail line. It's within walking distance of shopping streets, Dotonbori and other central Osaka locations. If you're looking for cheap and cheerful place to stay in Osaka that's more comfortable than a pod hotel and more private than a hostel, this is a good option.
