This is a great town.
This is a great town. Underrated in the conversation about Japanese tourism. The city has all the shopping found in the other big cities, but there is more space, the pace is a bit slower, and it is easy to make sense of the layout and transportation. Miyajima is beautiful, and if you go about two blocks uphill from the shopping street, the tourists disappear, and you have river valleys and shrines all to yourself.Guest review byLennUnited States - 10.0

Went to the Atomic bomb dome and the Peace memorial museum, it was a somber experience, hopefully we have learned the inportance of the peace and the thermonuclear bomb will never be used. We saw the Miyajima shrineand torii gate both in high and low tides by taking the Miyajima ropeway to Shishiiwas observatory where you can climb up the Mount Misen. A visit to Hiroshima is a great combination of beauty and history. Our trip to Miyajima Island in the morning was a scenic one which have us a great blend of nature, mountains and temples. Our visit to the Hiroshima Peace Park in the evening was one that gave us a perfect reminder of the cost of war and the importance of reducing nuclear weapons across the world. Hiroshima is a fantastic location. Peace Park and the Museum are a must, and Miyajima island was wonderful. Many people try to do this in a day trip or just one night, but 3 nights was actually wonderful- especially not having to check out and store bags.Guest review byJillUnited States
