Unlocking the value of procurement data across the EU

This page provides access to the Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS) as well as to other resources concerning public procurement data and standards.

1. The Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS)

The Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS) is part of the Common European Data Spaces initiative, aimed at unlocking the full potential of data for the European economy and society, as outlined in the European strategy for data of February 2020.

Aligned with the priorities for data spaces in public administration, the PPDS aims to provide accessible, reusable, and interoperable procurement data across the EU, including data on tenders, contracts, suppliers, and procurement performance.

By enabling better access to procurement data, the PPDS supports evidence-based policymaking, market transparency, innovation, and cross-border cooperation in public procurement. It benefits public authorities, businesses, researchers, and civil society.

The PPDS is a service where policy makers, public buyers, companies, and other stakeholders can access public procurement information originating from both national and EU level.  Access the Public Procurement Data Space

Explore EU procurement data sources and tools for automated access:

TED – EU Tenders is the online version of the 'Supplement to the Official Journal' of the EU, dedicated to European public procurement

TED Search API offers the 'Notice Search API' endpoint, which enables users to search for notices published in the 'Supplement to the Official Journal' of the EU.

TED Open Data Service allows you to explore and download TED Open Data exploiting the advanced Linked Open Data technologies like  SPARQL queries.

Public procurement procedure view offers a user-friendly visualisation of the public procurement procedures based on what is published in the 'Supplement to the Official Journal' of the EU

3. Standards for public procurement data

To ensure interoperability and reusability of procurement data, the following resources provide guidance and standards:

eProcurement Ontology (ePO) defines and describes the concepts used in public procurement and their relationships, according to EU legislation. The ePO is the foundation for Linked Open Data in public procurement.

eForms is the notification standard for public procurement procedures in the EU.

Authority tables and taxonomies used in eProcurement are provided in various formats such as Skos-core, Skos-ap-act (activated version), xml, atto-xml and genericode for reuse in transactions and data sets.
