Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de rendre étanches et de gonfler des pneumatiques (8) de véhicule automobile en cas de défaillance ou de panne se présentant après une perte de pression dans un pneumatique. Selon ledit procédé, le pneumatique est tout d'abord rempli d'un moyen d'étanchéité, et de préférence lorsque le véhicule est à l'arrêt, puis le pneumatique pourvu du moyen d'étanchéité est gonflé à une pression de service prédéfinie à l'aide d'une source de gaz comprimé (9), de préférence par un compresseur entraîné au moyen d'un moteur électrique. Le gonflement s'effectue au moyen de la source de gaz comprimé (9) d'un système de remplissage de pneumatique en pression installé fixement dans le véhicule automobile, de préférence pendant que le pneumatique du véhicule automobile roule lors d'un trajet, une fois le pneumatique rempli du moyen d'étanchéité.
