Description

MASK WITH SOUND FOR MIGRAINE RELIEF
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The present invention can be included in the technical field of masks, in particular a mask having an audio player for relieving migraine discomfort.
More particularly, the object of the invention is a mask preventing light from contacting the eyes, and allowing the use of aromatic fluids or essential oils together with an audio player, the purpose of which is to provide healing sounds together with aromatherapy, thus causing relaxation and relieving the discomfort caused by migraines.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Pain relief has many treatments and very often it is desirable to use natural methods instead of conventional medicine or remedies, especially if these are required to be used for a long period. Headaches or migraines may be caused or intensified by many factors such as, stress, high noise or strong light changes. Therefore, the use of natural oils, perfumes or other aromatic fluids, and relaxing sounds are used as natural treatments for relieving this pain. The use of aromatherapy treatments provides for comfort and relief for the severe pain and stress caused by migraines. Aromatherapy treatments act by application thereof directly to the skin, or through breathing oils from different plants which are absorbed by the body through blood vessels inside the nasal cavity and in the lungs.
The existing eye masks are not duly suited for pain relief and are mostly directed to aesthetic benefits. The device disclosed in US5343561 is a mask system covering ear cavities only providing protection against noise into the ear cavity. Another device disclosed in US14/75097 describes a mask system consisting of a gel pad attached thereto and having holes for the eyes which are aligned with the cavities of the mask. The main object of this invention is a cosmetic use. Additionally, another device is disclosed in US09/549288, corresponding to a washable face mask having a pocket means for allowing placement of facial contact elements. Likewise, another device is found to be disclosed in US3354884, showing a cosmetic mask device having eye openings cut onto the mask, and being mainly designed for applying pressure to the face in order to reduce skin swelling, and providing moistening by soaking a pad adhered to the inner side of the mask. Therefore, considering the above documents, it is necessary to find alternatives directed to a medical natural treatment device for severe headaches caused by migraines, using natural treatments such as the use of natural oils or aromatic fluids together with the application of relaxing sounds. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention refers to a mask that avoids eye contact with the light and which allows introduction of aromatic fluids or essential oils and them to flow into the user's nose, together with an audio player. The purpose of said mask is to provide healing sounds together with aromatherapy, thus causing relaxation and relieving the discomfort caused by migraines.
Thus, an aspect of the present invention refers to a mask device for migraine relief comprising:
- a main body made of a cushioning material configured for totally or partially covering the face and for avoiding eye contact with light and - an elastic and adjustable string attached to the ends of the main body and configured for keeping the main body of the mask onto the user's face in the correct position.
wherein the main body comprises:
- at least an orifice configured for conducting aromatic fluids and releasing scents towards the user's nose and - side wings configured for totally or partially covering the ears allowing isolation of environmental noise and that comprises audio player devices.
In a preferred embodiment, the cushioning material of the main body is made of layers of a soft and flexible material.
In another preferred embodiment the audio player devices are configured for connecting to any external audio device by means of a wire.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG 1 . Front view of the mask.
FIG 2. Front view of the inner side of the mask.
FIG 3. Side view of the mask.
FIG 4. Side view of the inner part of the mask.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
The following is a detailed description of the preferred embodiment of the mask with sound for migraines relief based on FIGs 1 to 4. The following figures are not to scale and real dimensions and/or shape of each of the components of the device may vary.
FIG. 1 : It is a front view of the mask (1 ) comprising a main body of cushioning material configured for totally or partially covering the face and for avoiding eye contact with light, and an elastic adjustable string (4) together with an adjustable element (5). The mask includes a wing at each side thereof covering the ear cavity (3a and 3b) and a set of plugs (2a and 2b) where the aromatic fluids are inserted in.
FIG 2.- It is a front view of the inner part of mask. The mask device comprises an elastic adjustable string (4) together with an adjustable element (5) and a main body in which the fluids are introduced in through the set of plugs (2a and 2b) in the mask at the top thereof and flow through the ducts (6a and 6b) and that will be released near the user's nose through the slots or openings (7a and 7b) allowing the scents to cause relaxation and relieving the migraine pain. The figure also shows the side wings that cover the ear cavity (3a and 3b) with the audio player devices (8a and 8b).
FIG. 3: it is a side view of the mask which shows the elastic adjustable string (4) together with the adjustable element (5) and the side wing covering the left ear cavity (3b).
FIG. 4.- It is a side view of the inner side of the mask which shows the elastic adjustable string (4) together with the adjustable element (5) and the side wing covering the left ear cavity (3b), which has an audio player device (8b) next to the plug (2b) of the aromatic fluids orifice.
Although mention has been made herein to a specific number of components, it should be noted that the device described in the present invention may contain a greater number of these elements without affecting the composition thereof.
